Sustainability Undergraduate Research Fellow Profiles
Pronouns: she/her
Year: 2027
Major: Environmental Science | Minors: Chemistry
What is your project about? My project assesses how climate change will impact SA国际传媒’s water sources over the next 50 years. As climate change progresses and rainfall patterns become less predictable, many of SA国际传媒’s drinking water sources, such as groundwater and imported water from the Sierra Nevadas, are at risk of drying up. Understanding how these changes will impact SA国际传媒’s local water supply and who is most at risk is vital. My project aims to understand how SA国际传媒’s water supply will be impacted, who will be impacted the most, and identify actions that the government of SA国际传媒 can take right now to increase water security.
How will this fellowship support you in your future scholarship/career goals? Upon graduating from SA国际传媒, I hope to pursue a graduate or doctorate degree in environmental policy or water resources management. The SVPSF Fellowship will allow me to pursue research that is meaningful to me while simultaneously developing critical data analysis and research skills that will aid me in future research projects during my post-graduate career.
What extra/co-curricular activities are you involved in on campus? I am a peer Chemistry tutor, have a radio show on KSA国际传媒, help lead the RSO tUrnout for Climate Action, and am a student researcher for the Water and Climate Justice Lab!
Other passions, hobbies, fun facts, or anything else you want to share: Outside of SA国际传媒, I love to listen to music, go for runs, hike, and read!
