SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 29, 2016 - SA���ʴ�ý is proud to be a key partner in bringing pregame festivities to the South Bay. The University, in collaboration with the City of SA���ʴ�ý, will be hosting numerous events on campus including the daylong Feb. 6 Super Community Celebration day.

“SA���ʴ�ý is pleased to host these memorable celebrations,” said SA���ʴ�ý President Michael E. Engh, S.J. “The City of SA���ʴ�ý has been so vital to our success for the past 165 years. We are honored to welcome the community to our campus and celebrate this historic sporting event together."

In addition to the big Super Community Celebration, SA���ʴ�ý also has contributed in other ways to events around pro football’s big day.

• On Jan. 26, the university in conjunction with the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee, hosted a luncheon lecture featuring former 49ers coaching legend George Seifert. Seifert and other sports all-stars discussed leadership lessons from sports.
• In addition, SA���ʴ�ý MBA students, led by marketing professor Juan Montermoso, helped develop the marketing plan for the upcoming Jan. 30, “STEM Innovation Bowl” being held by the City of SA���ʴ�ý. That all-day event is being targeted at middle school students to demonstrate virtual-reality technology to area youth interested in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

The  events —for which tickets have been pre-reserved by the SA���ʴ�ý community—will include a concert by Huey Lewis and the News; a “super community pep rally,” a ® flag football game; and autograph opportunities with NFL legends like Eric Wright, Cliff Branch, Ricky Waters, Keena Turner, John Taylor, and Eric Reid. In addition, zones will be set aside for the Flavors of SA���ʴ�ý (featuring food by local restaurants and entertainment by local bands), a 49ers-sponsored kids activity space, and a Fan Zone.

Please note: Standby tickets to events may become available starting at 12 noon, and again at 6:30 p.m., on the day of the event at SA���ʴ�ý.  If available, stand-by tickets will be distributed to people in designated stand-by lines located at the two entrances to SA���ʴ�ý at Palm Drive and Accolti Way. SA���ʴ�ý is the oldest operating institution of higher learning in California. As visitors attend events throughout the University, which regularly tops “most beautiful campus” lists, they may notice construction underway. The University is implementing a strategic plan that strongly enhances and connects SA���ʴ�ý’s thriving academic programs in science, mathematics, and engineering; art and art history; and law and business. The new facilities will be located and configured in ways that foster cross-collaboration and research.

The plan includes the new , expected to open later this year, and the new 96,000 square foot , slated for a Fall 2017 opening.
