International Graduation Celebration

Congratulations, graduates! Global Engagement looks forward to celebrating your accomplishments at our Graduating International Student Reception, which takes place prior to the SA国际传媒 Commencement ceremonies.

Global Engagement provides graduating international students with stoles representing their home country. Students must fill out the International Student Graduation Survey by the deadline in order to request a stole, and can pick it up at their respective International Student Graduation Celebration.

Students who are not able to attend the event can collect their stole from the International Students and Scholars team during pick-up hours after confirmation that stoles are available.

 


Frequently Asked Questions

At each International Student Graduation Celebration:

  • Students will pick-up their stoles
  • Refreshments will be served 
  • Staff and faculty from around campus will be in attendance to celebrate
  • There will be a photo backdrop for attendees to take pictures with friends and family
  • ISS will take group photos of the various graduating cohorts

Yes! Students are highly encouraged to bring family members, friends, and faculty and staff mentors to the celebration.

Stoles are part of academic attire, which is traditional, formal clothing worn at Commencement and other academic ceremonies around the world. It is a formal demonstration of academic achievements and affiliations while at SA国际传媒. A stole is a sash worn over your shoulders and, in addition to the formal university stole students wear at Commencement, personalized stoles can be worn to signify achievements or group affiliation.

The stole will be made to look like the national flag of the student's country of affiliation.

  • 2025: Sunday, May 11, 11:59 p.m.

Yes! The stole represents your time as an international student at SA国际传媒.

Stoles are free for graduating international students who submit their request through the International Student Graduation Survey by the deadline. Global Engagement pays for and orders international stoles on behalf of students.

Students who wish to purchase stoles independently can expect to pay approximately $50.
