Student Candlelight Mass
Every Wednesday at 8:00 PM this year, the overhead lights inside the Mission Church dim in favor of the ambient, flickering candlelight of the main sanctuary. Led by Vice President for Mission and Ministry Fr. Matt Carnes, S.J., along with campus ministers Fr. Julian Climaco, S.J., and Mr. Chris Castañeda, S.J., the weekly Wednesday Candlelight Mass was born.
What began as a small gathering of Catholic students has since grown into a vibrant community of up to 50 faith-filled young adults seeking a peaceful reprieve from the rigors of academics and extracurriculars. The steady rhythm of Eucharistic Adoration and Confessions at 7:30 p.m., Mass at 8 p.m., and fellowship afterward—shared over the young-at-heart Jesuits’ nostalgic childhood snacks—has quickly become a cherished Bronco tradition.
