SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½

This year was filled with career development workshops, social gatherings, and creative opportunities to connect sociology with the world around us. From refining email signatures and LinkedIn profiles, to building stronger communication strategies, we helped members advance their professional identities. While our social events facilitated personal connections and grew our sociology community at SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½.

One highlight of the year was our “2016 is Back” event. Inspired by the wave of online nostalgia regarding 2016 culture, we explored the marketing, psychological, and sociopolitical aspects of why we long for such a time. Events like this, connecting a social media trend with broader societal contexts, display the kind of discussions and activities facilitated by the club, and our purpose of providing a space where students can engage in topics of interest to them with their peers.

Three of our current board members are graduating this June: Co-Chairs Carla Schmitt and Meg Jones, and Head of Communications Stephanie Molina. We thank them for all of their contributions to the Club and the Department and wish them the best in their future endeavors and start to their careers!

With endings come exciting beginnings – we’re thrilled to announce our new board for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year!
