We are in and of the community.
A deep engagement with the surrounding communities in Silicon Valley and beyond is central to our mission.
Our communities influence how SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ students learn and what they choose to do on weekends and breaks. They inspire the work of our faculty and shape the lives of our alumni.
Community programs, activities, and initiatives help strengthen the connection between SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½, our neighbors, and our world, while creating opportunities for all of SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ to learn, serve, and grow.
This engagement works in both directions. We welcome our neighbors to experience SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½â€™s campus culture through public events and enrichment programs. Activities throughout the year might include exhibits, , athletics, and public forums featuring some of Silicon Valley’s most notable visionaries—often our own alumni.
SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ in the Community
What happens when corporate money enters the political sphere? The stakes are especially high today as debates about money's influence on democracy dominate headlines and shape public policy.Â
The Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization returned abortion policy to the states, creating a patchwork of total bans and gestational limits. Extremes in abortion policy raise serious ethical concerns, but a partial framework with clear gestational limits and essential exceptions offers a more balanced approach that better supports justice and the common good.
